The motion interpolation is astonishingly good. I was able to create a 25 FPS PAL video with smooth motion from a 29.97 FPS NTSC video. First I deinterlaced the video to 29.97 FPs progressive using the excellent filter in VirtualDub, then converted to 25. FPS in Motionperfect, then increased the resolution from 720 x 480 to 720 x 576 in Avid Studio. Motion was smooth; there was a slight artifacting of titles which might not occur with better pixel interpolation; motion might be even smoother if deinterlacing is to 60 FPS progressive. Note that MotionPerfect should be used on raw clips -- if used on video with transitions (fades, dissolves) it will reshape the content there, resulting in a "crumpled paper" effect.
